Many families want to homeschool their preschoolers, but don’t want to spend a ton of money on a formal curriculum. The great news is that there are many free options available. Here are my favorite options for free preschool curriculum for homeschoolers.

Free Preschool Curriculum Options
ABC Jesus Loves Me
36 weeks – Religious – Bible Stories, Reading, Fine and Gross Motor Skills
Each week’s lessons focus on a different Bible story, song, and verse. Lessons also include activity ideas to help kids learn about colors, shapes, and animals.
Suggested reading books, songs, and poems are included with each lesson. This curriculum incorporates review every 6 weeks.
Easy Peasy All-in-One Preschool
34 weeks – Religious – Reading, Math, Fine Motor Skills
The main focus of this curriculum is preparing kids to learn to read. Each week, preschoolers will learn a new letter of the alphabet.
Each week’s lessons also include an animal-themed story that corresponds to the letter of the week. An extensive workbook is available that goes along with the lessons. Individual lessons from the workbook can be printed for free, or the whole workbook is available for purchase.
Encompass Preschool Curriculum from Cornerstone Confessions
26 weeks – Religious – Reading, Math, Bible Stories, Gross and Fine Motor Skills
This curriculum is 26 weeks long and is designed to be used 4 days per week. The lessons include monthly themes, a letter of the week, and poems and Bible verses to share.
This curriculum includes a wide variety of unique hands-on activity ideas. The activities give kids plenty of practice with gross and fine motor skills. They also help reinforce the themes and concepts for each week.
God’s Little Explorers from Motherhood on a Dime
28 weeks – Religious – Reading, Math, Bible Stories, Life Skills
God’s Little Explorers is a 28 week comprehensive free preschool curriculum. Each week’s lessons introduce a new letter of the alphabet and focus on a theme and a weekly Bible story.
Each lesson also includes a number to focus on throughout the week. The lessons are full of hands-on activity ideas for preschoolers to try. “Busy bag” ideas are also included so that preschoolers can work independently on activities that are related to the week’s theme.
Joyful Heart Bible and Rhyme from Hubbard’s Cupboard
38 weeks – Religious – Reading, Math, Bible Stories, Music, Fine Motor Skills
This curriculum is designed to be used 3 days per week for 38 weeks. Lessons plans include ideas for reading, math, and Bible activities that focus on a different Bible story each week.
A detailed daily planning sheet for each week is available to download. These plans include lots of additional activity ideas for each lesson.
A second year of this curriculum, called Joyful Heart Character, is also available.
Letter of the Week Preschool Curriculum from Brightly Beaming Resources
38 weeks – Secular with optional Bible story – Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, etc.
Letter of the Week is a popular free preschool curriculum that focuses on learning one new letter of the alphabet each week. Activity suggestions that tie in with the letter are included for a wide range of subjects.
This curriculum also includes a review week built into the schedule every 6 weeks.

In this free preschool curriculum, each week has a letter of the week, a preschool theme, and a Bible story or topic to focus on.
The lessons include lots of ideas for hands-on activities, reading books, and crafts. Printable lesson plans are helpful for organizing to teach this curriculum.

Free Preschool Curriculum for Reading
Ambleside Online
Flexible – Secular – Reading
Ambleside Online is a free resource for Charlotte Mason homeschool lesson plans. The site includes an extensive read aloud book list for “Year 0,” which is the time before a child starts formal Charlotte Mason homeschooling at age 6.
Progressive Phonics All-in-One Reading Program
Flexible – Secular – Reading and Handwriting
Progressive Phonics is a free printable curriculum for teaching kids to read using phonics. Sequential readers teach alphabet letters and phonics concepts.
Each book also has printable worksheets available to help reinforce the concepts that kids are learning. Kids can also practice printing with accompanying handwriting books.
