Elephango: A Personalized Homeschool Lesson Curriculum
My son loves to search for things he’s learning on the Internet. He’s very curious and he always has questions about why things happen or how things work. I have been looking for a way to help him search safely, that would allow us to explore topics he’s interested in more deeply. I’m so excited that I discovered Elephango! This database of homeschool lessons allows him to search and discover a wide variety of topics through educational lessons that spark curiosity to learn both online and offline. Here’s why we love Elephango and why it might be perfect for your family too.

I received compensation and a subscription to Elephango in exchange for my honest review, but all the opinions in this post are my own.
Elephango Supplemental Homeschool Curriculum
As the parent of a curious child, it can be hard to find resources that satisfy their curiosity. That’s why I love Elephango, a unique platform tailored for homeschooling families. Elephango is a huge database of lesson plans that encourages students to search and discover what they want to learn.
What makes Elephango unique is its focus on both discovery and critical thinking and Internet safety and reliability. Students have the freedom to dive into topics that intrigue them, and parents can rest easy knowing their kids are in a secure online environment.
As homeschool parents, we also get a streamlined dashboard that makes assigning lessons and tracking our kids’ progress fast and easy.
Why We Love Elephango
My family has been loving our time exploring Elephango. Here are some of our favorite features of this homeschool curriculum companion.
Homeschool Lesson Library
The best part of Elephango is its database of extensive lessons that are created just for homeschool families. If Google was made by homeschool families and for homeschool families, that would be Elephango. I love that my son now has a place to answer all of his science questions. My daughter has enjoyed learning about her current passion, animals, on Elephango too.
Elephango has an abundance of content catering to every subject area. I love that no matter what my kids are interested in, I can trust that Elephango will provide curated resources and complete lessons to help my kids explore their interests at a deeper level.
Each lesson also includes information about different personality types and learning styles that the lesson is created for. The platform offers related lessons and even personality style assessments, to make sure that lessons resonate with every child’s learning style and personality.
I love that when my kids are using Elephango, I know they are accessing quality, ad-free website content and educational activities.
Parents who are homeschooling from a Biblical worldview should be aware that Elephango does include lessons that mention evolution.

Parent and Student Online Accounts
As a busy homeschool parent, I love how easy it is to create student accounts in Elephango for each of my kids and manage their learning from my parent account at a glance. I can search Elephango using my parent Elephango login and assign lessons to my children with just a few clicks. I can also monitor their progress from my parent account.

Built on the Foundations of Learning Science
As a former teacher, I love that Elephango’s lessons are not just busy work. They are designed based on the science of learning to make sure that kids are making the most of their time and learning and remembering as much as possible.
Each lesson is divided into three core sections: “Get it,” “Got it,” and “Go.” Here’s a deeper look into each:
- “Get it”: This is the introduction and foundation of each Elephango lesson. Discussions or activities spark curiosity and get students excited to learn more. Then, interactive modules, videos, or discussions help students begin to learn about the new topic.
- “Got it”: After the introduction comes understanding. In this phase, learners delve deeper with skill-building activities that reinforce their understanding. These resources can be videos or other supplemental curriculum online, or interactive projects or activities that kids complete away from the computer. I love the way Elephango includes plenty of ways for kids to continue their explorations in real life.
- “Go”: The creators of Elephango know that kids will understand what they are learning best when they can apply it to their own lives. In this final section, students transition from theory to practice, using their new knowledge in real-world scenarios. Whether it’s projects, problem-solving tasks, or other hands-on activities, students are encouraged to use what they’ve learned in practical, everyday contexts.
By dividing up the lessons into these 3 consistent sections, Elephango make sure that each topic isn’t just memorized—it’s understood, internalized, and then applied. This is how kids learn best!

Online and Offline Learning for Homeschool
Elephango includes both online and offline activities in each lesson. I love the way that each lesson is designed to inspire kids to explore the real world, away from their screens.
Recently, my son who loves construction sites and trucks wanted to learn more about them on Elephango. He watched a video about a construction site and learned about construction workers. He was having so much fun that his younger sister came to watch, too.
At the end of the lesson, one of the activities suggested creating a construction site in the backyard, so my son went outside to dig in the dirt! His hands were dirty, his imagination ran wild, and he lived the lesson he had just learned.
This is the magic of Elephango. It doesn’t just educate; it encourages kids like my son to engage with the world around them.
I also love the way that these real-world activities allow kids to show what they have learned in each lesson without needing to take a formal test or quiz!

Badges and Rewards for Gamified Learning
Another way that Elephango encourages kids to keep learning is through badges on the site. Kids can earn badges in their accounts by completing a series of lessons.
My son’s lesson about construction trucks was part of a badge about community helpers, so he was able to explore some other related videos right away. He is always very motivated by rewards like this, so he was excited to complete all the lessons to try to earn the badge.
Special JumpStart badges are designed to help kids get ready for the new school year, too.

Elephango Browser Extension for Google Chrome
My son is always asking questions about how and why things work. We are often searching the Internet to find the answers to his questions. I have been looking for a way to allow him the freedom to search independently, and the safety to know what results he will find. Elephango’s Chrome browser extension is a powerful tool that helps solve this problem.
Homeschool families can install the free Elephango browser extension for Google Chrome browsers. The extension will open up a new tab in Chrome that asks “What would you like to discover today?” Kids can then search to learn about something new. A toggle allows them to choose to search just the Elephango site or to add in some Google search results too.
We love that the Elephango browser extension gives us:
- Instant Access: With just a click, Elephango’s extensive lesson database becomes available, making it easier than ever for my children to delve deeper into a topic they’re curious about. I love the easier access to Elephango that we get when using the Chrome browser!
- Safe Exploration: Navigating the web can sometimes be a challenge, especially for younger learners. The Chrome extension ensures that searches are funneled through Elephango’s safe and curated database. This provides peace of mind for parents like me.
- Blended Experience: Whether we stumble upon a captivating lesson or an interesting video, the Elephango extension allows us to incorporate these finds into our homeschool lessons and suggests activities we can do to follow up on what we’ve learned away from the screen.
